Wilmington, Delaware, April 22, 2022 -- DuPont (NYSE: DD) today announced its participation in Apple's Supplier Clean Power Program.  By participating in the program, DuPont has committed to using 100 percent renewable electricity, including renewable Energy Credits (RECs), for all Apple-related product production, a key milestone toward achieving DuPont's renewable electricity and climate management goals in the sustainable Development Goals for 2030.

"Dupont is proud to join Apple's supplier Clean Energy Program," said Jon Kemp, President of DuPont electronics and Industry. "We are working together to support the transition to clean energy and to proactively address climate change.  Sustainability is always at the heart of our business.  We are committed to working with our customers and suppliers to promote the spread of clean electricity and reduce the environmental impact of the electronics industry value chain."

Prior to this, DuPont has taken a number of actions in support of the climate Action goals of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 30% by 2030, generating 60% of our electricity from renewable sources, and becoming carbon neutral by 2050:

In 2021, DuPont achieved 15% of its renewable electricity, including renewable Energy Credits (RECs), which will be announced in the DuPont Sustainability Report on May 2, 2022.  Among them is duPont's Electronic Interconnect Technology business, which has 95% of its global operations powered by renewable electricity for all Apple-related products.

Dupont has joined RE100, a global environmental initiative launched by the Climate Group in partnership with the Carbon Disclosure Project, which brings together companies that have committed to using 100 percent renewable energy in their global operations.

In 2021, DuPont entered into a virtual power purchase agreement with a subsidiary of NextEra Energy Resources.  The wind power project under the virtual Power Purchase Agreement is expected to provide approximately 528,000 megawatt hours (MWh) of wind renewable electricity to the local grid annually beginning in 2023, representing 25 percent of DuPont's total current electricity demand.

Dupont uses science-based, proven technology to deliver innovative materials and sustainable solutions to the world's most pressing challenges.  By working with customers, these solutions are applied to emerging industries such as 5G connectivity, autonomous driving and electric vehicles, and fundamentally reduce carbon footprint and solve sustainability challenges.
