Mitsubishi Launches The Hardest Polymer To Replace Metal
Mitsubishi Chemical Advanced Materials (MCAM) has expanded its KyronMAX structural thermoplastic material production line, and they claims that KyronMAX polymer incorporates MCAM’s short carbon fiber technology to produce the toughest injection-molding grade polymer used in metal replacement applications.
KyronMAX is known as the world's hardest injection-molded polymer and can be used to replace steel in structural components. The material with a tensile strength of 60000psi (414Mpa) developed by MCAM has broken the barriers of the industry.
KyronMAX technology can realize the injection molding process of very complex parts while maintaining the strength and mechanical properties of the metal.
