On the 20th， Jan, 2021, Toray Industries, one Japanese enterprise, they announced that company developed a kind of new polymer that retains the excellent heat resistance, hardness and strength of PA6(PA66) while providing15 times the bending fatigue limit of conventional polymers. Potential applications for this particular durability include automobiles, electrical appliances, and sporting products. Toray hopes to start comprehensive sample work in this new year, at the same cultivating applications with different industrial materials.
PA6 or PA66, sometimes we called nylon, it is an engineering plastic with a wide range of uses, including automobile engine compartments and electrical enclosures, etc. PA6(PA66) resin is added with flexible elastomer to resist fatigue and optimize life. However, the price of this is reduced heat resistance, hardness and strength of PA6(PA66). Then, the challenge for many years is to develop a new material that can provide all these desirable properties.
