The design of a Fan Mold must maximize the smallest projected area in the closing direction of the mold. A long core should be placed in the open direction to facilitate the de-molding process. Non-planar parting surfaces should be provided for easy processing of the cavity and easy de-molding.The most important aspect of a Fan Mold is its accuracy.
Once the mold is created, it can be molded. Injection molding is an old industrial manufacturing technique used to create a fan. During the molding process, molten plastic is injected into the mold to shape it. This process is often highly efficient when producing large quantities of products, due to its high precision and perfect repeatability. Plastic injection molding is particularly effective for the production of fans because it has a wide range of materials and additives that can alter its properties.
Several materials are used in plastic injection molding. A wide range of materials can be used in a Fan Mold, and different additives can be added to make it more durable and functional.
